The Force Unites to Help a Legend!

According to a 'reset' in the expanded universe...All stories of Mara Jade are now that of legend. For well over the past decade, a face was given to that name. We all have grown to know and love Shannon (Baska) Mcrandle for giving her likeness to the character. What many don't know is that Shannon has had a battle of her own, cancer.

As a cancer survivor and father to three wonderful children, we've found a way to give something back to Shannon.  Working with Mark and YodasNews... along with the father of another cancer survivor, Mr Tom Kane, we've united to bring some relief to Shannon and her family by way of this benefit.

Shannon's bills still accrue and we all can do something to help. My family and I met up with Tom at MegaCon in Orlando recently. Without hesitation, Mr. Kane (the voice of Yoda in various mediums, along with narrating The Clone Wars series) signed this Artist Proof YodasNews 10th Anniversary poster. Jim Cummings (legendary voice actor and Hondo in the series) also lent his signature. Last was that of our favorite Wookiee in all mediums, Mr.Peter Mayhew, who will reprise his role as Chewbacca in upcoming yet untitled Episode VII!

From Jocleyn, Logan, Hunter, and myself we hope that you will show your generous spirit in helping Shannon.

Thanks, Kyle! Okay, Yodasnews readers, now is the time to help out Shannon (who we did contact before publishing this). We were trying to figure out the best way to do this, and we were planning to do it via eBay. Since Shannon isn't listed there as a recipient for a donation, it seemed foolish to pay the fees to them and give less to Shannon. So we are going to do it via an email silent auction.

As Kyle mentioned above, the winner of the auction will get the "Yodasnews.com - Celebrating 10 Years" Artist Proof Art Print by the amazing artist Lin Zy. The print is 8½" x 11", authorized by Lucasfilm Ltd., and hand signed by Jim Cummings, Tom Kane, and Peter Mayhew.

The winner will also receive the images below that further authenticate the piece. In addition, we will also send the winner a 10 Year Anniversary Shirt and Patch. The auction is live right now and will end on May 7th at 10:00 p.m. EST.

To bid on this lot, please email your bid to Yodasnews@gmail.com with the subject line "Help for Shannon." Please include your full name, contact information, and how you plan to pay should you win (PayPal, mail a check, etc). 100% of the winning bid will go to Shannon; we can even arrange for you to send it directly to her if you wish. Please only email true and genuine bids.

On May 7th at 10:00 p.m., we will contact the highest bidder and then announce the amount raised on May 8th. The winner will have the option of getting mentioned, or they can choose to remain anonymous.
